Broomfields Portal Tomb Situated on a farm track close to the village of Donard in County Wicklow, this sadly collapsed portal tomb lies at the edge of a field. Some of the stones are actually used in the field boundary. Unfortunately the portal stones appear to be missing and the capstone has obviously slipped and is lying in front of the chamber. On my latest visit I noticed that one of the portal stones could be buried in the field boundary. The capstone is typical of the stone used around the area including Haroldstown and Aghade Portal tombs. |

Situated: Take the Blessington Road from Donard in County Wicklow. After about 1 kilometre you will come to a farm track on your right. As you walk down the track approx 300 metres keep looking at the ditch on your left, you will see some of the stones sticking up over the ditch. Discovery Map 56: 923 983. Last visit March 2009.
