Darrara Standing Stone I particularly loved the location of this megalith. The stone stands in the grounds of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Darrara, a quite beautiful setting. The stone must be at least 2 metres tall and about 1.4 metres wide. The monolith seems small in my images as it is dwarfed by the surrounding trees and the large rural church. Not far from here is Lisnagun Fort and Souterrain Passages, a reconstructed ring fort. You may have to get permission from Teagasc, agricultural college to visit the fort.
