Dromkeare Stone Row

On the opposite side of Lough Currane to Eightercua stone row, stands another equally impressive row. Like Eightercua this row is composed of four stones. The 7 metre long row is aligned in a NNE-SSW direction. The stone furthest south is enormous, it stands at least 2.5 metres in height and is almost two metres wide at the base. Moving north along the row, the second stone is the smallest, at less than half a metre high it is almost hidden in the field bank. At c.1.5 metres and 1 metre in height the third and fourth stones are also quite large, but appear dwarfed by the monster to the south. The row stands on private property, so please ask for permission before visiting.

From the South-West

Situated: From Waterville head north straight through the town. (Leaving the N70). After 130 metres turn right, and stay right for Lough Currane Lodge. After 4.2 kilometres turn right. After 600 metres there is an old farmhouse on your right. The row is behind the Barn. Ask for permission.
