Hurlstone Holed Stone At times this holed stone can be easily missed, during the summer months the crops almost completely hide it. It stands 1.7 metres high by 1.8 metres wide, with an almost perfect hole in the centre. The hole has a diameter of about 23 centimetres. It has been suggested it maybe all that remains of a megalithic tomb. It would make a superb entrance stone. There are further examples of holed stones scattered around the country. The 'Cloch an Phoill' at Aghade in County Carlow and the Doagh holed stone in County Antrim are probably the more well known examples.
