Labbamolaga Middle

Standing Stones

We were blessed with fine weather during our visit to these fascinating stones. There are four standing stones forming a rectangle, similar to a four poster stone circle. The stones are located in a field to the south of Labbamolaga early ecclesiastical site. Windele recorded having seen 5 stones here during the mid 19th century and was informed there had been 8 stones in total. It is not known whether the stones were originally part of a stone circle or formed an avenue of stones. The ecclesiastical site can be seen in the background of the image above.
