Standing Stone

This large bulky monolith stands 2.1 metres in height, with a rectangular cross-section. I originally drove right by the field, but after checking my map I realised it was in the field on my left. There is no access to the field from this side, but you can get a good view of the stone from the roadway. The 1.6 metre long stone has an ESE-WSW orientation. There is a total of 197 recorded standing stones in Waterford County.

Situated: Head south from the Towers hotel in Waterford City on the R680. After about 10 kilometres turn left onto the R681. Go approx 250 metres. The monolith stands in the field on your left, just past the large house.
