Ballynabola Standing Stone This huge rectangular block of red sandstone conglomerate can be seen from the roadway. it stands 2.7 metres, almost 9 feet, in height. there is double fencing all around the field, which usually is a sign for horses, but there was none on this occasion. The stone is flat topped and leans slightly to the northwest. The flatest side of the stone is aligned Northeast-Southwest. A really impressive monolith, well worth a visiting. Further up this road there are two nice bullaun stones at Faithlegg Church.

Situated: From the Woodlands hotel Waterford City, take the R683 East for about 2.1 kilometres. Then take a left turn at the fork. Go another kilometre and turn left under the railway bridge.
