Standing Stone

Travelling north on the Atlantic Way, mid-way between Dunquin and Ballyferriter you will see a large stone on your left, standing next to the Tig Áine Restaurant. This stone is more of a garden feature or attention seeker, but in the field behind the restaurant is a genuine ancient standing stone. The monolith stands less than 1.5 metres high and the south face is almost a metre wide at the base. The panoramic views across Clogher strand to the Atlantic ocean and the Dingle peninsula are stunning from here. It might not be the greatest megalith in Kerry, but if you are touring the peninsula this is probably one of the easiest to view.

Situated: On the R559/Atlantic Drive behind Tig Áine restaurant, about 3.5 kilometres north of Dunquin.
